Four bedrooms sleep eight: two kings, a queen and a bunk room, with two of the bedrooms en-suite. The pool and hot tub sit behind the house on a raised deck, and the blue-grey exterior with its stacked porches is the one guests photograph most.
Pool season runs 16 April to 15 October. Outside those dates the hot tub is still on, and the house is still one of the quietest places on the eastern seaboard.

“Shades of Mermaid was the perfect home for our weeklong stay in Carova. The home is incredibly clean and was well stocked. The layout of the house was perfect and you can catch a beautiful sunrise from three of the four bedrooms. The hot tub was a plus on the cooler evenings. We saw wild horses every day and even found one under the car port enjoying the a/c. Shelby went above and beyond by helping me arrange a surprise floral and wine delivery for my wife to celebrate our anniversary. I would highly recommend this house and look forward to coming back again.”

The house was very clean, kitchen has all the amenities, and Shelby was quick to respond if we had a question or needed a recommendation. We saw wild horses, dolphins and other wildlife everyday. If you are looking for a unique vacation experience, if you want a little adventure exploring the beaches and sand dunes on your own, then 4x4 beaches in Carova are a great choice.”
